Guide

New in Copenhagen? Start here.

Wonder. WI.
New in Copenhagen? Start here.

Moving to a new city is mostly logistics, and then suddenly it is Friday evening and the logistics are done and the apartment is quiet. This guide is for that moment.

Start with something where your hands are busy. A pottery wheel, a crochet hook, a climbing wall. When your hands have a job, conversation happens on its own, and silence is comfortable instead of awkward. This is why workshop tables beat bars for meeting people: nobody is performing.

Go to the same thing twice. The second visit is where acquaintances become people who save you a seat. Croquis on Tuesdays and bouldering on Sundays are the two most rebooked activities on Who’s In Club for exactly this reason.

Use the “Going alone?” tab shamelessly. Most members come alone. The avatars you see on an activity are people who, statistically, moved here 14 months ago and remember exactly how it feels.

And say yes to the weird one. Tufting, natural wine collage, a terrarium. The activities you cannot picture yourself doing are the ones you end up telling people about.
